A unique workshop that offers a rare opportunity to experience how two powerful approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and The Work of Byron Katie (The Work), when used together can reveal the truth beneath your stories and true freedom beyond your parts.
IFS is one of the most influential and cutting-edge therapeutic models in use today, embraced by thousands of therapists and counsellors worldwide for its ability to create lasting change by recognizing we have an internal system of parts, and we can approach and work with them directly for healing.
The Work of Byron Katie is a simple yet radical form of self inquiry that has helped people for decades to find freedom beyond stressful thinking by questioning the beliefs that shape their experience of life.
When used together, you learn how to recognize when parts of you have taken control, and then explore the beliefs they are holding, and experience the lasting freedom to be found when those beliefs are questioned.
This is chance to move beyond the question “Who am I?” into the mystery that opens when identity loosens and the system settles.
Many of us judge ourselves and others from notions and identities shaped by parts of us that were often formed in childhood, or formative years when we needed to mask and protect ourselves....
“I’m an introvert.”
“He’s an angry man.”
“I’m the responsible one.”
Over time, these parts can slip into the driver’s seat of our lives. Their beliefs, fears, emotions, and behaviors begin to define who we think we are.
In this one day online workshop, you will explore how identity is often mistakenly formed around protective parts, and how stress arises when those parts have ownership over who you are.
Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) and The Work of Byron Katie (The Work), you will learn to recognize when a part has taken control, explore the beliefs it is holding, and discover what becomes available when those beliefs are questioned.
Internal Family Systems is one of the most influential and widely used therapeutic models today, practiced by thousands of therapists and counsellors worldwide for its effectiveness in creating lasting change through parts awareness.
The Work of Byron Katie is a simple yet radical process of self inquiry that has helped people for decades find freedom beyond stressful thinking by questioning the thoughts they believe.
Together, these approaches offer a unique opportunity to find the truth beneath your stories and the freedom beyond your parts.
Step into a more self-led life, moving beyond the question “Who am I?” and into the mystery that opens when identity loosens and the system settles.

Exploring Identity Through Family and Ancestry
Mapping the parts shaped by family roles and lineage.
Explore the names your family gives you, such as mother, father, child, sibling, grandparent, and the identities formed through culture, country, tribe, or religion.

Relationships
Notice the parts of you that arise in intimate relationships.
Partner, Single, Spouse, Divorced, Alone,

Work and Roles

Doctor, therapist, teacher, artist, technician, carer, mechanic, farmer

Self Judgement and Self Attack
Identify the parts that criticize, blame, shame, or control you.
Explore the attacking names you sometimes call yourself, such as lazy, careless, needy, arrogant, inadequate.
Use inquiry to identify the parts that attack, resolve the internal conflict and do a U-Turn to understand and soften their hold.
Inquiry Into the Question “Who Am I?”
Using parts awareness and self inquiry, explore who you are beyond roles, labels, and beliefs.
Gain insight into what becomes visible when identification loosens and the system settles.
This event is grounded in The Work of Byron Katie and supported by Internal Family Systems.
Do I need prior experience with Internal Family Systems or The Work of Byron Katie?
No. This workshop is designed to be accessible whether you are completely new or already familiar with either approach. All concepts and processes will be introduced and guided clearly.
Is this therapy?
This is an educational and experiential workshop, not therapy. That said, the day is grounded in therapeutic models and held in a way that supports insight, self understanding, and inner regulation.
What if I feel overwhelmed by parts work or self inquiry?
The pace is gentle and structured. You will never be asked to share more than feels right for you. The focus is on awareness, not on pushing or reliving difficult experiences.
Will I have to speak or share personal details?
Sharing is always optional. You are welcome to participate quietly, reflect privately, or engage verbally if and when it feels supportive.
How is this different from other personal development workshops?
Rather than trying to improve or fix yourself, this workshop explores how identity itself forms around parts and beliefs. The emphasis is on questioning what is believed, not on changing who you are.
Can this help with self criticism or inner conflict?
Yes. Much of the work focuses on noticing how self attack and inner struggle arise from identification with certain parts, and how those patterns soften when beliefs are questioned.
Is this suitable for therapists, counsellors, or coaches?
Yes. Many professionals find this work personally enriching and professionally relevant. It can deepen your understanding of parts, identity, and inquiry without being a training or certification.
What if I am already familiar with one of these approaches?
Many participants come with experience in either IFS or The Work. Exploring how they function together often brings new insight and depth to both.
Will there be recordings?
Details about recordings will be shared closer to the event date.
